Patience Is A Form Of Wisdom

“Patience is a form of wisdom. It demonstrates that we understand and accept the fact that sometimes things must unfold in their own time.”

― Jon Kabat-Zinn, Full Catastrophe Living

Patience is the next attitudinal foundation of mindfulness. It offers the idea of a broader perspective, one that is not limited by one's past experiences.

Imagine that you see a rose in your garden that has not yet bloomed. Would you start to peel those petals back to hasten the process? No, you would wait for the rose to bloom naturally. When you stop rushing from one thing to the next, life becomes more satisfying because you are aware of it, living it, being present for it.

I suggest the practice of paying attention on purpose. When you notice yourself "going through the motions of life", pause, breathe and get present.
