Hurrying Week 1

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”
— Lao Tzu

Hurrying according to Merriam Webster is defined as: to carry or cause to go with haste. Sound familiar? Do you define your day as rushing to get somewhere else, maybe not even noticing how you got there, or what occurred in that space?

Our lives, even though we have more conveniences to make life easier, seem to be filled with more on our to do list. It may seem as though you cross one thing off your list only to add something to fill that gap. You may even notice if you have children, you are doing it to them as well, or to your significant other. Always doing, never being.

This month we focus on hurrying. Step one is being self -aware, in this instance of when we hurry. If it’s the state of our existence or only on occasion. This week pay attention on purpose, be an observer to yourself, notice the hurrying. At the same time pay attention to nature, as spring arrives this month. As Lao Tzu says, nature gets it done, without hurrying.
